2019 Pre-Season Update (2/23/19)
2018 Update #1 – Beach is Open!
Hi Everyone,
The beach at the Score has opened, actually we are in our 2nd week of league programming already. We’ve had some great, good and poor weather already out there, but any day on the beach court is a good day! Here is a quick update & info, so please share, come out, sign up and enjoy our beach, the music, palm trees, food & drink and our vibe!
Tournaments!
We have the first one coming in about a week!! May 19th is going to be historic as it will be our first Coed 4’s Regular/Reverse format event! Some of you know what this means, for those that don’t. Here it is in a nutshell: 2 guys/2 girls, regular is guys hitting/blocking on a men’s height net with the girls passing/setting, reverse is when the guys set/pass and the girls get to hit and block on a women’s height net! We will have an A & B division, this is open to anyone. Get a team together and email me to sign up! All tournaments are $25 per player for a day of competition and fun! Cash & prizes for top finishers in each division!!
Here is a link to our event calendar on our website to see the full list & schedule of our events/tournaments. Or here is the upcoming ones:
May 19th, Coed 4’s Regular/Reverse in the beach! A & B Divisions
June 9th, Men’s & Women’s 2’s. For the competitive players, A/AA combined
June 22nd, State Games of Michigan. Youth & Adult Coed 4’s. For info or to register.

Youth Programming is back!
We will have a clinic series for the young beach players this season. You can sign up for just 1 – 2hr session, or all 3 for a savings! We know kids and families are busy in Michigan during the summer, so there is 3 series to chose from. 1 in June, 1 in July and 1 in August so you can plan around those vacations! We do private lessons as well as hosting 2 youth beach volleyball tournaments this season! Here is a link to our Youth Programming.
Leagues
Our Spring session is underway, all 8 leagues are 100% full. We should know by May 13 if everyone is returning for Summer session or if some teams are going to drop, not many typically do drop, but those spots that open will be filled immediately from our Waiting List. Get on that if you want to try and get in our leagues!
Facility
When you come up for the first time you will notice some changes and improvements this year! Here is what’s happened and will be coming soon:
- New vb court poles, pads and netting around the courts
- 30 yards of new sand leveled on the vb courts
- New court layout, allowing for more room for expanded seating & game playing next to the feature court

Well the first snow flew today, so I guess I should find the time to wrap up another year. The website has been updated with the last pics of our league champions. I’m starting to work on the 2016 calendar, schedule, leagues and events to get a head start. Dave and I packed up the nets, lines, clock, pads and the rest of the equipment for the winter just last month and in a few cold months we’ll be pulling it all back out again! Thanks everyone for our biggest and best year ever.
FYI, we are going into ‘beach vball hibernation’ so you won’t hear from us till its time for sign ups for the 2016 season. All teams from the 2015 Summer season will be contacted via their captains and will have first crack at returning for Spring season ’16. We will send out the call for this Mid-January, teams will have 2 weeks to let us know if they plan on returning or not, then starting in February will open it up to new teams from our extensive waiting list! We expect our leagues to be full again by the end of week 1 in February.
Stay warm & healthy for the indoor season, happy holidays and we’ll see you all again in April!

It is lit up and has been cleared out for another parking alternative.
